Frequently Asked Questions

I am Polestar trained, so teach contemporary studio Pilates using a range of studio equipment.
I’m constantly learning so my practice evolves but always has a strong focus on alignment, strength, mobility and nervous system regulation.
At the moment I am studying DNS (Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabalisation) and find this is currently influencing my classes. -
Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilisation (DNS) is a rehabilitation and exercise approach that “reprograms” the central nervous system to restore optimal, natural movement and postural patterns that were established during infancy.
It is founded by the Prague School of Rehabilitation on the principles of developmental kinesiology, the study of how human movement and posture develop a healthy baby. -
The studio is a private, home-based Pilates space in Merewether Heights. The exact address is provided once your booking is confirmed.
-
All group sessions are semi-private with a maximum of 3 clients per class. This allows for personalised attention while still enjoying the energy of a small group.
I also offer private 1:1 classes for those who like an even more induvidualised approach.
-
Not at all. Beginners are very welcome. Exercises are always adjusted to suit your experience level, injuries or goals.
-
The studio is equipped with a Chair, Reformer with tower attachment, Ladder Barrel and a number of small apparatus.
As the studio grows, additional equipment will continue to be added. -
Clients are generally booked into a regular weekly session. I prefer direct communication rather than online booking systems, so please get in touch to organise your spot.
-
Wear comfortable clothing you can move in, it’s a good idea to bring a bottle of water.
Bare feet are encouraged in the studio, grippy socks are welcome if preferred.
Everything else is provided.
-
Yes, with clearance from your healthcare provider. Please let me know your stage of pregnancy or post-partum recovery so sessions can be appropriately tailored.
-
Yes. I understand that sometimes bringing your baby is part of making Pilates possible, and babies are welcome in the studio.
That said, classes tend to be less efficient and more interrupted when babies are present. For this reason, I do my best to place clients bringing babies into mums and bubs style sessions, where everyone attending is in a similar season and expectations are shared.
If you’re planning to bring your baby, please let me know in advance so I can ensure the class is the right fit for you and the group. -
There’s no such thing as “too old” for Pilates.
Pilates is highly adaptable and can be modified to suit all ages, bodies and stages of life. Whether you’re new to movement or returning after a long break, sessions are tailored to support strength, mobility, balance and confidence at a pace that feels right for you.
-
Yes. While sessions may feel different to large reformer classes, they are still strong, challenging and purposeful. With smaller class sizes, exercises can be more precisely tailored, progressions can be added and attention to form often makes the work feel deeper and more effective.
Many clients are surprised by how much they feel the work when it’s slower, more intentional and personalised.
